Payments
About this integration
The Solvimon + Adyen integration handles the handoff between billing (calculating what the customer owes) and payments (collecting the money).
Solvimon handles the billing side: metering, rating, invoicing, credits, entitlements, and revenue recognition. Adyen handles the payment side: collecting money across 100+ payment methods in 200+ countries. Together, they cover the full lifecycle from usage event to settled payment.
Adyen is a global financial technology platform that processes payments for businesses including H&M, Uber, eBay, and Meta. It operates as a single platform for accepting, processing, and settling payments across online, in-person, and mobile channels.
What makes Adyen different from most payment processors is its architecture. Rather than routing transactions through a chain of intermediaries (gateway, processor, acquirer), Adyen built a single system that handles the entire payment flow end to end. This reduces latency, improves authorization rates, and gives businesses a single source of truth for all payment data regardless of channel or geography.
Key capabilities that matter for the Solvimon integration include global acquiring in 200+ countries with local acquiring in key markets (which improves authorization rates by avoiding cross-border processing), support for 100+ payment methods including cards, digital wallets (Apple Pay, Google Pay), bank transfers (iDEAL, SEPA, ACH), and local payment methods, tokenization and PCI DSS Level 1 compliance for secure handling of payment data, recurring billing support for subscription charges, real-time settlement reporting, and machine learning-based fraud prevention.
Adyen operates under US, UK, and EU banking licenses, which matters for companies expanding internationally. Rather than adding a new payment provider per market, Adyen's licensing structure covers most major geographies from a single integration.
Invoice-to-payment automation. When Solvimon generates an invoice, the integration triggers payment collection through Adyen. For recurring subscriptions, this happens automatically on the billing cycle. For usage-based charges, the invoice is generated after the billing period closes and payment is collected against the customer's stored payment method or through an invoice payment link.
Payment method management. Customers can pay through any payment method supported by Adyen, managed through Solvimon's customer portal. This includes cards, digital wallets, and local payment methods. Payment method data is tokenized by Adyen, so sensitive card data never touches Solvimon's systems.
Payment status tracking. Payment outcomes (successful, failed, pending, refunded) flow back from Adyen into Solvimon in real time. This means invoice status in Solvimon reflects actual payment status, not a delayed batch update. Finance teams see which invoices are paid, which are overdue, and which have failed payments that need dunning, all without checking a separate Adyen dashboard.
Multi-currency settlement. For companies billing customers in multiple currencies, the integration handles currency at both layers. Solvimon generates invoices in the customer's billing currency. Adyen processes payment in that currency and settles to the company's bank account in their preferred settlement currency. Exchange rates and conversion are handled by Adyen's treasury infrastructure.
Secure customer payment portals. Solvimon provides a hosted payment portal where customers can view invoices, update payment methods, and make payments. The payment experience within this portal is powered by Adyen, so customers interact with Adyen's checkout components (which handle 3D Secure authentication, local payment methods, and fraud screening) without leaving Solvimon's billing interface.
Who this integration is for
The Solvimon + Adyen integration is built for companies that need both sophisticated billing and global payment processing. The typical profile is a SaaS or AI company in the $5M-$100M ARR range that has outgrown simple Stripe Billing but needs a payment provider with global reach and enterprise-grade reliability.
Common scenarios where this integration delivers the most value include companies running hybrid pricing models (seats + usage + credits) that need a billing engine capable of handling the rating complexity alongside a payment processor that can collect in any currency and market. Companies expanding internationally that need multi-entity billing (Solvimon) with local acquiring (Adyen) to maximize authorization rates in each market. Companies with enterprise contracts that include committed spend, volume discounts, and custom terms that need to be calculated correctly before payment is collected. And companies migrating from a homegrown billing stack where pricing logic is scattered across Stripe, spreadsheets, and custom code, and who want to consolidate billing into one system without changing their payment processor.
How it works technically
The integration connects Solvimon and Adyen through API-level communication. Solvimon sends payment requests to Adyen when invoices are due. Adyen processes the payment and sends back status updates via webhooks. The flow is automated for recurring charges and can be triggered on-demand for ad hoc invoices.
No middleware or custom integration code is required. The connection is configured in Solvimon's admin interface with your Adyen API credentials. From there, payment collection, status synchronization, and reconciliation happen automatically.
For companies already running on Adyen, adding Solvimon doesn't require changing anything on the payment side. Your Adyen merchant account, payment methods, risk settings, and reporting all stay the same. Solvimon sits on top as the billing layer, calculating charges and triggering payment collection through Adyen's existing infrastructure.
