FareHarbor didn't have one billing problem. They had as many billing problems as they had revenue streams.

Over a decade, each new product (API fees, processing fees, booking fees) came with its own way of charging customers. Some teams automated their piece. Others shipped spreadsheets and manual steps.

The result: some customers receiving up to eight different invoices a month, all from the same supplier.

The fragmentation ran deeper than customer confusion. Finance was creating invoices manually. Product teams were maintaining tax logic in-house and sometimes getting it wrong. When SOX compliance was required, auditors wanted a centralized trail. Instead, they got scattered reports and "so much pain".

Solution

FareHarbor evaluated Stripe Invoicing which was considered to be too expensive, too limited for multiple entities and EU e-invoicing requirements. Continuing to build in-house wasn't viable either. Solvimon was built by the team that scaled Adyen's billing engine to €1T+ in payment volume. That pedigree meant we understood their complexity: hybrid pricing across products, tax compliance across jurisdictions, and the need for a single audit-ready source of truth.

The implementation started with API fees, with processing fees following. Even early on, wins were immediate: credit notes that used to be manual now generate directly in Solvimon. A built-in grace period catches issues before invoices finalize. Product teams no longer maintain tax logic. Engineers finally have a billing API with real documentation.

Impact

Eight invoices per customer are becoming one. Credit notes are auto-generated. Tax logic moved from product teams to Solvimon. Finance can reconcile revenue with SAP and close books without chasing teams across the company.

More importantly: new monetization initiatives ship faster. The billing infrastructure that held them back is now the infrastructure that lets them grow.
